Director, Social Media and Content at Birchbox

The Director, Social Media & Content will drive the strategy and day-to-day execution of Birchbox content in order to 1) build brand affinity by representing our unique beauty perspective, 2) create engaging social experiences that delight our community, 3) drive qualified organic and paid social traffic to Birchbox.com and 4) deliver on acquisition and shop revenue targets for social / content channels. This role will report the the CMO and manage a team of three.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of driving business growth via social and content tactics.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Leadership & strategy

Provide leadership, strategy and guidance to executive conversations
Drive and foster true partner relationships across your peer group and cross-functional teams
Bring big, bold, game-changing ideas to the table that will drive significant impact for content / social and overall business KPIs (social engagement, traffic, acquisition, shop sales, customer happiness)
Social Media

Define the role social media plays as part of our acquisition marketing mix and current customer engagement
In partnership with Acquisition Marketing, holistically plan across organic and paid social media to hit traffic and CPA goals
Nurture and grow our social community and create valuable experiences for them; encourage participation and interaction with our brand
Ensure excellent community management using social as a dialogue with our customers and to resolve customer issues
Stay on top of social trends and ensure Birchbox remains a leader in social media
Content Lineup

Define and communicate our unique beauty POV for the Birchbox target customer (not the beauty obsessed customer)
Guide monthly content lineup planning including video, photo and written assets across social channels (Facebook / Facebook Live, Instagram / Instagram Stories, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest), email and onsite
Supports Marketing Campaigns, Partnerships and Influencer Marketing across content and social
Develop SEO content strategy to drive organic traffic
A plus if comfortable on camera; opportunity to be Talent and Brand Ambassador in video and social
Analytics

In partnership with Planning and DSAI, support accurate demand forecasting for traffic, acquisition and shop sales
Develop social / content metrics reporting structure and regularly report insights to CMO and cross teams
Team Management

Lead, inspire and develop your team
Requirements:

6+ years relevant experience in social media / content
Passion for the role that social / content can play in overall marketing strategy
Ability to bring together creativity and analytics to deliver results
Believes in the critical role social has in building our brand
Passion for exploring the business use for social trends and platform changes
