We are looking for a Head of Professional Services to build, manage, and grow our consulting team of implementation engineers and technical project managers. You’ll partner with our Head of Solutions and be responsible for developing custom approaches that meet the business goals of our clients. You’ll serve as the senior partner and confidant for clients and partners as well as internal cross-disciplinary teams to ensure quality of relationship and work product.

This position is based out of our Madrid, Spain, Brooklyn, New York office or Washington DC office.

You will

Evolve and mentor our professional services team, by providing strategic and tactical leadership
Be able to discuss technical and nontechnical aspects of professional services projects with engineering, sales, research, external consultants, partners and others
Provide program and project management review and support to ensure the team is meeting client deadlines and that deliverables exceed expectations
Lead strategic development and scoping of proposals that require professional services
Identify needs that the client may not recognize and ensure that approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs
Work closely with our Partner Managers and our Partners network to strategically determine partner engagement opportunities
Develop strong relationships with CARTO’s enterprise clients and prospects, and serve as an intermediary between the company's sales and technical teams
Stay up to date on what is happening on other teams and identify conversations that need Professional services team’s involvement
Protect the Professional services team’s bandwidth and resources, keeping company revenue goals in mind and serving as a support function for the SaaS business strategy
Travel required to other offices up to 30% of the time.
You offer

Over 10 years of direct experience managing a professional services team, setting and exceeding ambitious goals, and expertly communicating priorities up, down, and across the organization
Consultative customer work experience, preferably with enterprise-size companies, ideally at a SaaS organization
Excellent team & resource management skills and operational & business management capabilities in order to drive successful engagements
Ability to prioritize deals and projects in the context of our larger business goals and work with stakeholders within product, engineering, sales, operations, and marketing to execute work
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and requirements
Strong detail orientation, superior presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
A genuine eagerness to work with, mentor, encourage, and learn from a diverse and talented team
Ability to synthesize and effectively communicate complex technical issues into business-friendly language
Creativity, positivity, resourcefulness, persistence, integrity, curiosity and the will to succeed in a startup environment
Experience in the delivery of complex geospatial, GIS or Business Intelligence projects and use cases will be considered
A Bachelor’s degree, including study in relevant fields.
